1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how MJM Aesthetics (“MJM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a licensed-esthetician studio at 155 New Dorp Plaza N #2B, Staten Island, NY 10306, handles personal information. It covers this website, the online booking page embedded on it, and what you share with us by phone, text, Instagram, or in the studio.

2. Information we collect

• Booking details: your name, phone number, email address, the service and time you choose, answers to any intake questions, and notes you add. Booking runs on Acuity Scheduling, a Squarespace service, which collects this information on our behalf.
• Treatment and health information: details that affect whether a treatment is safe and suitable for you, such as skin type and concerns, allergies and sensitivities, medications, pregnancy, recent sun exposure or other treatments, consent forms, and notes about the treatments you receive.
• Payments: if a deposit or payment is taken online, it is processed by the payment provider connected to our booking system. We do not see or store your full card number.
• Photos: before-and-after photos, only when you agree to them.
• Messages: your phone number or account handle and what you send us when you call, text, email, or message us on Instagram.
• Website visits: this site has no contact forms, accounts, analytics, or advertising pixels. Our hosting and security providers process standard request data, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to deliver and protect the site.

3. How we use information

• Schedule, confirm, remind you of, and reschedule appointments.
• Decide whether a treatment is right for you and provide it safely.
• Keep treatment records and track sessions in a treatment package.
• Answer questions and follow up on your care.
• Take payments and keep ordinary business records.
• Operate and secure the website, and comply with the law.

We will not use a photo that identifies you on our website, Instagram, or other marketing without your separate permission.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only with:

• Service providers that run our business tools: Acuity Scheduling and Squarespace for booking and reminders, our payment processor, Railway for website hosting, and Cloudflare for network security.
• Embedded and linked services: Google, when your browser loads the map on our site, and Instagram (Meta), when you message us there. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.
• Others when required: when the law requires it, to protect someone's health or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

5. Health information

We treat the health and skin information you share as confidential. Only the estheticians and staff who need it to care for you can see it, and we use it only to provide and document your treatments.

6. Cookies

The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies of its own. The booking scheduler and the Google map load from those companies and may set their own cookies under their policies; you can block or clear them in your browser settings. Because we do not use nonessential cookies of our own, we do not show a cookie banner.

7. How long we keep it

We keep booking and treatment records while you are a client and for a reasonable period afterward, to maintain records of your care, honor packages, resolve questions, and meet legal obligations. Messages stay in the systems they were sent through under those services' settings.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including access limited to the people who need it and providers that encrypt data in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

9. Your choices

• Ask us what information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. We may need to keep some treatment records where the law or safe care requires it.
• Stop appointment reminders by following the instructions in the message or contacting us.
• Decline before-and-after photos, or withdraw permission for photos at any time.

10. Children

This website is not directed to children under 13. Clients under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian before receiving treatment.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or tools change. We will post the new version here and update the effective date.
